Organizational Description

The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (The Academy) is a world-class educational platform for girls which is aimed at nurturing a new generation of dynamic women leaders. This residential boarding school is situated in Meyerton, Gauteng Province with just over 300 students enrolled in Grades 8 -12. Grade 12. Students write the Independent Examination Board (I.E.B.) NSC Examination.

Minimum academic requirements & experience

  • A Diploma in Administration/ Office Management or other relevant qualification.
  • At least 2 years’ general office administration experience.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and Google.

Preferred requirements

  • Degree in Administration, Office Management and or any other related fields.
  • More than 3 years’ of general office administration experience in supporting executives in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage diaries of the Head/s of Academics.
  • Source, collate and develop documents to the required standards of each department, e.g. students’ transfer cards, memos, letters, etc.
  • Develop agendas, draft minutes and prepare any other relevant documentation and distribute to all parties involved.
  • Capture minutes for all meetings for various management and staff groups such as the Academic Think Tank, Grade Coordinators, and Board Sub-committees. The incumbent from time to time may be required to assist with the coordination of Staff meetings, and Executive Committee (EXCO) in the absence of the Executive Director’s Personal Assistant.
  • Distribute and keep the minutes in a shared drive for easy access.
  • Book venues and all necessary resources for meetings and workshops.
  • Facilitate the procurement of goods needed for the department in consultation with the Finance Department.
  • Assist with Engage administration, the school’s administrative system.
  • Compiling and collating the newsletter articles, formal letters and other documents as guided by the heads.
  • Serve as a replacement for the Receptionist when needed.
  • Provide administrative support to the Leadership Curriculum and Neurosequential Model (NM).
  • Organise events such as Academic Awards, the study camp, grade trips and other events attached to the office of the Heads of Academics.
