Organizational Description

The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (The Academy) is a world-class educational platform for girls which is aimed at nurturing a new generation of dynamic women leaders. This residential boarding school is situated in Meyerton, Gauteng Province with just over 300 students enrolled in Grades 8 -12. Grade 12. Students write the Independent Examination Board (I.E.B.) NSC Examination.

Minimum academic requirements & experience

  • An appropriate Academic qualification and proof of registration with SACE.
  • An undergraduate teaching degree in Afrikaans and Life Orientation or an undergraduate teaching degree in Afrikaans and at least three years of experience teaching Life Orientation.
  • Ability to participate in extra and co-curriculum activities.
  • An established track record of effective teaching. A passion for enquiry-based, student-centred learning.
  • A working knowledge of the latest educational trends.
  • A demonstrated capacity to work effectively in teams.
  • Experience in GDE / IEB teaching and marking at Grade 12 level.
