Organizational Description

The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (The Academy) is a world-class educational platform for girls which is aimed at nurturing a new generation of dynamic women leaders. This residential boarding school is situated in Meyerton, Gauteng Province with just over 300 students enrolled in Grades 8 -12. Grade 12. Students write the Independent Examination Board (I.E.B.) NSC Examination.

Job Purpose

The incumbent will play a vital role in terms of up keeping and maintaining all carpentry in the buildings and on campus. The incumbent will also assist with other maintenance related tasks as required.

Minimum academic requirements & experience

  • Grade 12;
  • Appropriate certificate or proof required work experience;
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in the general carpentry field;
  • Valid EB Drivers License.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out all carpentry related repairs to all building defects within the Academy;
  • Maintain a high standard of carpentry throughout the Academy;
  • Carry out repairs and basic maintenance to all in-house equipment and buildings;
  • Adhere to the Health and Safety regulations.
  • Perform any other tasks of a reasonable nature as requested by your Supervisor.
